Origin of Organic Quinoa

Although organic quinoa was cultivated by the Incas more than 7,000 years ago, this cereal grows in the Andes, between 2,500 and 5,000 meters above sea level. The organic quinoa is low in calories, gluten-free, high in protein with palatability and also a rich source of fiber and phosphorus: is is also high in magnesium, iron and calcium. In Peru there are more than 20 varieties of organic quinoa, but the most commercialized are white, red and black of colour.


Normally organic quinoa must be boiled before it can be used. It is considered a superfood and a common substitute for rice, besides being very tasty in salads with cheese and vegetables. Black organic quinoa is one of the treasures left by our Inca ancestors. This wonderful cereal comes from the shores of Lake Titicaca in Puno. Black Organic Quinoa is a superfood because it contains lithium, which is a regulator for depression. It also regulates hormone levels and provides essential acids and proteins and has no cholesterol. Thus quinoa is considered s an essential and healthy food suplement. Every 100 grams of black quinoa contain 35% of protein. Organic quinoa has more amino acids than wheat. This cereal possesses lysine, which stimulates brain cells. Black quinoa can be added to baby food, soft drinks, salads, meats, soups and breads.

Packaging and presentation

Quinoa can be presented as beans, chips, extruded, cooked and dehydrated, popeado or flour. Organic quinoa grains can be of three colors, white, red or black. The packaging used for export Quinoa is in paper bags 25 or 50 kg (bulk), or small (retail) packaging according to customer needs.
